Hey everybody!!! Today I'm going to talk to you about the holidays that Paraguay celebrates. The holidays that I found that we don't celebrate were; Chaco Armistice, Founding of Asuncion, Boqueron Battle Victory Day, Virgin of Caacupé Day.
Chaco Armistice:
Chaco Armistice is celebrated every year on June 12, and was first celebrated in 1935. The reason behind the holiday is to celebrate the victory of the Chaco War(still rubbing it in).
Founding of Asuncion:
This holiday is not only self-explanatory, but a very big holiday. The holiday is celebrated on the 15 of August. During this holiday there are official speeches, lots of military involvement and parades. The celebration also includes tribe dancing, and huge feasts.
Boqueron Battle Victory Day:
This holiday is a celebration of the victory of Boqueron Battle, which was part of the Chaco War.
Virgin of Caacupé Day:
This holiday is celebrated as the day the virgin Caacupé believed in Jesus. This holiday is celebrated on December 8th. During the celebration of this holiday, people from all over the world come to request for things they or someone else might need or want.

temperature of Paraguay is 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The eastern region of Paraguay has
rainy and humid weather. The western region has hot and arid weather. The
summers are long, and on peak days, the temperature reaches up to 105. The
winters are short and mild. The winter months are June to August. The
temperature can dip down to 0. Winters are very pleasant; the temperature is
nice and cool.

Today I
thought today I was going to talk about tourist attractions, so I will. An
amazing tourist attraction is the Iguassu Falls. The waterfall is split between
three countries; Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. Most of the waterfall is
shared between Argentina and Brazil. There are many things you can do at the
falls, for example; take a helicopter ride, a jet boat excursion. Some other
activities are being part of a jungle safari, rappelling and visit the Itaipu
Dam.
The Itaipu dam is a hydroelectric plant that was built between
1975 and 1991. Brazil helped in the building of the dam. The dam has 18 units and produces 12,600 MW
of power. The dam powers about 75% of Paraguay. According to the American Society
of Civil Engineers, Paraguay is known as one of the seven wonders of modern
day. There are 2 tourist attractions, but there are plenty more.

Today
I'm going to be talking to you about Paraguay's sports. Paraguay is very
responsible when it comes to hosting international tournaments. Players from
all around the world would agree that the authority showered them with great hospitality.
Football (soccer) is the most popular sport in Paraguay. A Dutchman named,
William Paats, was the first one to introduce football in Paraguay. At first it
was only for the elite class, but everybody else quickly started to play as
well. In 1900 a small tournament was held in Plaza de Armas in Asuncion. The tournament drew a huge crowd. William
then decided to create the first football team in Paraguay. Thee club was
created in 1902 and was called “Olimpia Football Club.” It was later renamed “Club
Olimpia.” In 1906 the governing body of football, the Paraguayan Football Association,
was created.

Hey everybody, today I will talking about the Paraguayan flag. The
first time Paraguay used red, white, and blue was when they went to
defend Buenos Aires, when Britain was
invading them. The earliest recorded date of Paraguay using a
tri-colour flag was August 15, 1812. On one side of the flag they had
the arms of Ausincion, and the arms of the king of Spain on the other side. The colours on the flag all have different meanings. Red stands for patriotism, heroism, and justice. White stands for peace and purity. Blue stands for love and liberty. The Paraguayan flag wasn't completely described until 1842. Before 1842, Paraguay had many different variations of flags. Dr. Francia modified the Paraguayan flag, and that flag was used till after his death. The Paraguayan flag has had three main colours, red, white, and blue, since 1806 when the troops used them. well there you go, now you have some insight to Paraguay's flag.

Did you know that Paraguay was the center of the war of the War Triple Alliance. In the battle they lost over half of the adult male population. In 1932-35 Chaco, a very substantial economical part of Paraguay, was acquired by Bolivia. Alfredo Stressner was the dictator of Paraguay 1954 to 1982. After 35-year military dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner his dictatorship was demolished by Andres Rodriguez in 1989. Alfredo was continuesly supported by the U.S.. Since then Paraguay has always had election.
